Hello everyone and welcome to Chi Omega at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. My name is Sam, and I am truly honored to serve as the 2018 President of the Theta Mu Chapter of Chi Omega.
I began my journey in Chi Omega as a nervous and eager first year STEM student at a campus dominated by the male population. I went through recruitment to find not only my home away from home, but an everlasting support system. Going to different chapters throughout recruitment rounds, I noticed that there was something special and unique when I went to Chi Omega. Even though I had never met any of the women in the room, I felt that familiarity and belonging that you only get when being around old friends. This was my first impression of this incredible organization that I am blessed to call my own.
I never knew that I could gain so much from one place. I have become a better sister, a better community member, and a better leader because of Chi Omega. I’ve had the opportunity to volunteer in the local Worcester community, raise thousands of dollars for Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island, excel in my academics, and share laughs and memories because of the unconditional love and support from my chapter. I truly believe that I have become and will continue to be the best version of myself because of Chi Omega.
Our chapter is full of intelligent, ambitious, honest, passionate, and respectful women who strive to help each other through the good and the bad, pushing one another to be better than the day before. They contribute endless amounts of time, effort, and resources to bettering our community at WPI and I look forward to seeing the direction our sisters take in this next year.
I commemorate our chapter’s successes on this campus and look forward to working with the rest of our outstanding and valuable executive board members. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us!
